Zhengzhou, Henan Province encountered a "once-in-a-thousand-year" rainstorm. From 16:00 to 17:00 on the 20th, the hourly rainfall was 201.9mm, exceeding the extreme hourly rainfall on land in China. From 20:00 on the 17th to 20:00 on the 20th, the total rainfall in the three days was 617.1mm, while the average annual rainfall in Zhengzhou was only 640.8mm. This means that these three days have the volume of the previous year.
As of press time, nearly one million vehicles had been damaged by the rainstorm.
